Your First Customizer

Create your first Podifai customizer from a template or from scratch.

You can create a customizer in two ways: start from a template to understand the flow quickly, or create one from scratch when you already know which options your product needs.

Create from a Template

Templates are the fastest way to see how a complete setup works. Pick a template close to your product, apply it, then review how the option types, labels, values, and preview settings are arranged.

Templates give you a faster starting point when the product setup matches a common use case.

Create from Scratch

If you start from scratch, open a product customizer and add only the option types your product needs. A simple setup might combine visual choices, typed personalization, and customer uploads.

Add option types to the product customizer, then configure each option in the editor.

Example: Image Swatch

Use Image Swatch when shoppers should choose from visual values like colors, materials, patterns, or product images.

Image Swatch is useful when shoppers need to compare visual choices.

Example: Text Input

Use Text Input for names, initials, dates, engraving text, or any short customer-entered value.

Text Input collects short personalization and can be connected to Live Preview.

Example: Image Upload

Use Image Upload when shoppers need to upload a logo, photo, artwork, or reference image. You can make the upload required, add help text, and optionally charge a fixed upload fee.

Use image upload when shoppers or merchants need to add image files into the customizer flow.

Enable Live Preview When Needed

For supported options, turn on Live Preview so shoppers can see the customization on the product image before checkout.

Use Live Preview when a visual option should update the product image as shoppers make selections.
Want to compare every available option type? Open the Option Types section and review the detailed setup pages for each option.

Add Conditional Logic (Optional)

Use Conditional Logic when one option should only appear after another choice. For example, show an upload field only when the shopper selects "Custom artwork".

Preview conditional logic on the storefront

Conditional logic keeps the customizer focused by showing follow-up options only when they apply.

Set up a conditional logic rule

Add a rule that controls when an option appears based on the shopper's previous choice.

Save and Publish

Click Save, make sure the customizer is active, then visit your product page to test the customer flow.
