Theme Compatibility explains how Podifai appears on Shopify product pages and when to use App Embed or App Block for different theme layouts.
Overview
Podifai is built for modern Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes. It works out of the box with most standard product page layouts.
How Podifai Appears on Your Theme
Podifai can appear on your product page in two ways:
- App Embed — The default setup. Podifai automatically shows options on product pages.
- App Block — Custom placement. Add the Podifai block exactly where you want it in the product template.
Start with the App Embed. Use the App Block if your theme needs a specific placement. See Enable App Embed for setup steps.
Is custom options showing up on your product detail page properly?
Yes — custom options work with every Shopify theme. Podifai uses Shopify's standard App Embed and App Block extension points, which are part of Online Store 2.0 and behave the same way across themes. As long as the App Embed is enabled (or the App Block is added to your product template), your custom options will render on the product detail page regardless of which theme you use.
If options don't appear in the right place on your theme, add the Podifai App Block to your product template to control the exact placement. See Enable App Embed for setup steps.
Is live preview showing up on the product image area properly for your theme?
For most common Shopify themes, yes. Live Preview works on the verified themes listed below and on many other modern Online Store 2.0 themes. Because Live Preview overlays the product image, it's more sensitive to theme layout than the options form — it depends on how the theme renders the product gallery, image zoom, and slider behavior.
Every theme is built differently, and AI-generated product pages can vary even more. If Live Preview doesn't show up correctly on your theme, that's solvable — we just need to adapt to your specific layout.
While we adapt, these tips usually help:
- Use clear product images.
- Use square product images when possible.
- Test the preview on desktop and mobile.
- Try a Shopify free theme to check whether an issue is theme-specific.
Verified Compatible Themes

Switching Themes
App Embed and App Block settings are theme-specific. If you publish or test a different theme, enable the Podifai app embed again. If you use an App Block, add it again in the new theme's product template.

Will Podifai work with themes not on the verified list?
Yes, in most cases. Podifai supports any Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme. The verified list shows themes we have explicitly tested. If a theme is not listed, install Podifai and enable App Embed — most themes work without any extra setup. Use App Block when the theme has a non-standard product page layout.
Will custom options show up on every Shopify theme?
Yes. Custom options work with every Shopify theme because Podifai uses Shopify's standard App Embed and App Block extension points — part of Online Store 2.0 and theme-agnostic. As long as App Embed is on (or the App Block is added to your product template), options will render on the product detail page regardless of which theme you use.
Live Preview isn't showing correctly on my theme — what should I do?
Send us a message through the in-app support chat with your theme name and your store URL. We'll adapt Live Preview to your theme within 24 hours. Live Preview overlays the product image, so it's more sensitive to theme layout than the options form (image gallery structure, zoom, slider behavior). Most common themes work out of the box, and we fix any theme-specific issues quickly.
