Theme Compatibility explains how Podifai appears on Shopify product pages, how Inline Live Preview depends on theme layout, when to use App Embed or App Block, and when Popup display mode is a better fit.
Overview
Podifai is built for modern Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes. Custom options can display on almost all themes through App Embed or App Block. Inline Live Preview depends more on the theme's product image gallery layout. Popup display mode is available for a dedicated customization experience.
How Podifai Appears on Your Theme
Podifai can appear on your product page in two ways:
- App Embed — The default setup. Podifai automatically shows options on product pages.
- App Block — Custom placement. Add the Podifai block exactly where you want it in the product template.
Start with the App Embed. Use the App Block if your theme needs a specific placement. See Enable App Embed for setup steps.
Will custom options show on my product page?
In almost all cases, yes. Custom options can display through App Embed, App Block, or a theme's standard product form. App Embed is the easiest setup. App Block is best when you want to control the exact inline placement.
If options don't appear in the right place on your theme, add the Podifai App Block to your product template to control the exact placement. See Enable App Embed for setup steps.
Will Live Preview work on my theme?
Podifai supports both Inline and Popup display modes. Popup mode opens the customizer in a dedicated experience and is useful when the product page should remain simple. See Customizer Display Modes.
Today, embedded or inline Live Preview is more sensitive to the theme. It overlays or works near the product image area, so compatibility depends on how the theme renders the product gallery, image zoom, sliders, and product media layout. Podifai currently verifies embedded or inline Live Preview on the theme setups listed below.
These tips usually help when testing embedded or inline Live Preview:
- Use clear product images.
- Use square product images when possible.
- Test the preview on desktop and mobile.
- Try a Shopify free theme to check whether an issue is theme-specific.
Verified Compatible Themes
The current embedded or inline custom option Live Preview test set covers 30 Shopify theme setups. Custom options can still work on most modern themes, even when the theme is not listed here. For embedded or inline Live Preview, these are the theme names currently verified by the Podifai team:

Switching Themes
App Embed and App Block settings are theme-specific. If you publish or test a different theme, enable the Podifai app embed again. If you use an App Block, add it again in the new theme's product template.

Yes, in most cases. Custom options work on most modern Shopify themes through App Embed or App Block. Inline Live Preview depends more on the theme's product gallery layout. Popup mode is available when you want a dedicated customization experience that is less dependent on the inline gallery layout.
Will custom options show up on my Shopify theme?
In almost all cases, yes. Custom options can display through App Embed or App Block. If the automatic App Embed placement does not fit your theme layout, add the Podifai App Block to control the exact position.
Live Preview isn't showing correctly on my theme — what should I do?
Inline Live Preview is sensitive to product gallery structure, image zoom, and slider behavior. If it does not render correctly, try Popup display mode or send us your theme name, store URL, and product URL so we can check compatibility.
