Frequently asked questions about Podifai.
How are you different from other product personalisers?
We built Podifai to be easy for merchants and polished for shoppers. It supports no-code setup, on-brand styling, live 2D preview, dynamic pricing, conditional logic, reusable templates, and customization data saved with Shopify orders.
What kind of personalisation is Podifai suitable for?
Any product where customers want to see their choices before buying — jewelry (engravings, birthstones, charms), apparel (custom text, patches), gifts (names, messages, photos), homeware, accessories, and more. If your product has options customers want to visualize, Podifai can handle it.
Will it work with my theme?
Podifai is designed for modern Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes and works out of the box for most standard product pages. If your theme uses a non-standard product form or layout, use the Podifai App Block for custom placement or send us your store link and we'll help check it.

Why is Podifai free?
Podifai is currently free for our first 1,000 stores. If Podifai introduces paid plans in the future, stores that joined during the free period will be able to keep using the features they already had access to for free. New features released after paid plans are introduced may require a paid plan.
How do I change dollars to euros or another currency?
The Podifai admin/editor may currently show a dollar symbol as the default UI symbol. On the live storefront and at checkout, Podifai follows the currency context that Shopify provides for the customer. For single-currency stores, add-on prices display in the store currency. For Shopify Markets, add-on prices follow the customer's active market currency and Shopify's market pricing setup, which can include automatic exchange rates, manual rates, rounding rules, price adjustments, or fixed international prices. If you use a third-party currency app, Podifai does not use that app as its source of exchange rates; the final checkout currency still depends on Shopify's checkout and market configuration, so test each active market.
Do you support WooCommerce or custom sites?
Shopify only for now. More platforms are coming — if you want to be notified, reach out to us.
Do you support 3D live preview?
Not currently. Podifai uses high-quality 2D rendering — you can upload 3D-rendered product images for a realistic look, but the preview engine is 2D. This keeps your product page fast and lightweight.
How does the live preview work?
When a customer uses a supported preview option — such as a visual option, text field, font choice, image upload, or linked color choice — the product preview updates on the page without a reload. You upload your product images and map each preview layer to the right position so customers can see what they are choosing before they buy.
Does Podifai support front and back personalization?
Front/back and multi-side personalization is in development and coming soon. It will support separate views such as Front and Back, each with its own options and live preview. Until then, you can collect back-side details with separate fields, but full multi-side live preview switching is not available yet.
Can I use Podifai without coding?
Yes. Everything is point-and-click — add options, upload images, set up live preview, style to match your brand. Zero code required.
Can customers upload their own images?
Yes. Customers can upload photos, logos, or artwork directly on your product page and see it in the live preview before purchasing.
Can I charge extra for selected options or uploads?
Yes. You can add price add-ons to option values or to input/upload fields. For multi-select options, each selected value can add its own price. For Image Upload, the add-on applies once per upload field. Quantity-based upload pricing is not available yet, but may change when quantity selector support is added.
Can I add a required checkbox, gift option, or agreement field before Add to Cart?
Not yet. Podifai does not currently include a built-in required checkbox or gift-option field for the product customizer. We are working on this feature and plan to support fields such as required agreement checkboxes, gift options, and similar Add to Cart requirements soon.
Can customers crop or mask uploaded images into a specific shape?
Not yet. Image crop and shape mask controls are on our roadmap. Today, customers can upload an image, and you can configure where that uploaded image appears in Live Preview. Uploaded image layers can be positioned and resized based on the current editor settings, but customer-controlled cropping or fixed shape masking is not available yet.
Does Podifai support two-letter or three-letter monograms?
Specialized two-letter and three-letter monogram support is coming soon. Podifai already supports standard personalized text with configurable fonts, colors, sizes, and positions. The upcoming monogram functionality will support more specialized multi-letter compositions and layouts.
Does Podifai support multiple languages?
Podifai currently supports the customizer interface in English. The Customize button text can be changed, but full translations for every customizer label, option value, help text, and interface control are not currently available.

Can Podifai dynamically generate a name necklace like Jewlr?
No. Podifai can display customer-entered text at a fixed position on a necklace preview and let shoppers select a font or color. It cannot currently regenerate the necklace geometry or reconnect the chain endpoints based on the length and shape of the entered name.
