Podifai is not built for interactive 3D models, augmented reality, engineering validation, CPQ workflows, or automatic production-file generation. It is designed for visual 2D personalization on Shopify product pages.

Keep the customer's choices usable for fulfillment
A product builder is only useful when the configuration remains understandable after the shopper pays.
Podifai attaches text, colors, selected values, and uploaded image URLs to the Shopify line item. Fixed surcharges follow the Shopify checkout flow, and the configuration can be reviewed in Shopify Admin or the Podifai Orders tab. The original customer upload remains a separate file even when it is also shown in the live preview. Podifai does not turn that upload into a print-ready production file.

What is the difference between a custom product builder and Shopify variants?
Use Shopify variants for standard SKU choices such as size or inventory-tracked color. Use a custom product builder for personalization such as text, customer images, fonts, swatches, charms, conditional choices, and paid add-ons that should not require a separate variant for every combination.
Can I build a custom product builder on Shopify without code?
Yes. Podifai's standard setup does not require custom theme development or coding. The builder loads through a Shopify app embed or app block. A non-standard product form, media gallery, or heavily customized theme may still need a placement or compatibility check.
Can a customer-uploaded image appear in the live preview?
Yes, when the merchant enables the image upload field for the live customizer and configures its position. The customer's upload remains a separate file, while the same image can also be displayed as a layer in the 2D live preview.
Can product-builder choices add to the product price?
