Dynamic Pricing

Overview

Dynamic Pricing lets you charge extra for specific customization options. The price add-on is displayed next to each option in the customizer widget and included in the personalization line item when the order is placed.

Setup

1. Select any option value in the editor.
2. Enable Pricing and enter the add-on amount.
3. The price displays next to the option label in the customer-facing widget.

How Pricing Works

All price add-ons are fixed amounts added to the base product price. When a customer selects multiple options with pricing, all add-ons are summed together.

• Per-option pricing — Fixed add-on per selection (e.g. +$5 for gold plating)
• Variant-linked pricing — Link options to Shopify variants to display the variant's price as reference data (see Inventory & Variants). Variant prices are shown alongside options but do not replace the Shopify product variant price at checkout.

Pricing & Inventory Independence

In Shopify's native variant system, each variant bundles a single price with a single inventory count — and products are limited to 3 option types and 100 variants. Podifai bypasses these limitations by letting you set price add-ons and inventory independently per option value.

• A color option can have a price add-on without tracking inventory
• A size option can track inventory via variant linking without changing the price
• Both can be combined on the same option value when needed

This gives merchants more flexibility than Shopify's default variant system, especially for products with many customization combinations.

Currency Formatting

Pricing follows your Shopify store's currency settings. Podifai supports all standard Shopify money formats including comma separators, space separators, and no-decimal formats.
